The Ink Spots hit the American Top Ten 19 times between 1939 and 1949. Thirteen of those Top Ten hits are among the 20 tracks on this British compilation, along with the chart entries “Java Jive,” “Someone’s Rocking My Dream Boat,” and “(It Will Have to Do) Until the Real Thing Comes Along,” and the group’s non-hit covers of four other songs, two of them U.S. standards (“I’ll Never Smile Again,” “It’s a Sin to Tell a Lie”) and the other two better known in Britain (“No Orchids for My Lady,” “We’ll Meet Again”). Twenty tracks on a single disc is a generous selection, and most of the Ink Spots’ biggest hits are included, even if the collection is incomplete.
